Cuisine at Uma Paro is modern, light and respectful of local nuances. Its restaurant, 'Bukhari', set among tall pine trees offers the right ambience with exotic flavours to create magical holidays.
The menus here revive traditional Bhutanese offerings. Its specialties include 'sicum paa' or dried local pork with Bhutanese chilli, and 'bathup', a hearty soup based on handmade noodles. The foodstuff is largely organic, grown in the surrounding valleys. It also includes local produce in its offerings like hand-churned butter, hand-moulded farm cheese, apple vinegar, and honey sourced from hives in the wildflower-strewn Bhumthang Valley. Wild mushrooms with red rice make a perfect combination for any meal.
